Friends,

64 days from the election and the first attack ad against Jeff just appeared.

We have to take it seriously, even though the content is pretty weak.

They don’t really have anything to hit Jeff with personally, so they’re defaulting to generic phrases about taxes and inflation.

They even do the cheesy “let’s put him in black and white” thing:

The first attack ad against Jeff just appeared.

Look — this isn’t exactly strong stuff. When it comes to political attacks, this is a pretty mushy banana. No big threat.

But it’s just the start. And we’re letting you know because a big part of our campaign is making sure this stuff doesn’t go unanswered. As weak as it is, failing to respond is simply not an option.

This is the first time I’m going to ask you to contribute to our Nonsense Defense Fund. We’re trying to raise $200,000 to make sure we don’t let this nonsense define Jeff.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

We won’t hit that amount from this one email, but that’s a rough goal of what defending against nonsense will take.

Here’s to an honest and decent campaign that isn’t going to let this kind of stuff knock us off message.

Sincerely,

James
