Folks, there is no greater investment we can make in our children’s futures than supporting our teachers and our public schools.
Every child needs to be healthy and ready to learn when they start kindergarten. And when that student graduates high school, they need to have learned the skills and knowledge to succeed, whether that’s starting college or a career.
Unfortunately, the pandemic only exacerbated the challenges faced by our educators. And this year, schools in North Carolina and across the country start the year facing significant vacancies, especially among teachers and bus drivers.
We must do everything we can to make sure that there’s a good teacher in every classroom and that kids are safe on their way to and from school as well as in the building.

Every student in North Carolina has a right to a sound, basic education. We need a strong principal in every school and a good teacher in every classroom. That’s the North Carolina our students deserve and the North Carolina Josh believes in.
The sooner we start to fairly fund public education in North Carolina, the sooner we can expect to see results: more knowledge, shrinking achievement gaps, higher graduation numbers, strong economic growth, and more young people ready to succeed.
