Governor Ivey has been busy lately, and we wanted to update you on two new
developments coming out of the Governor’s office.



>> Governor Ivey just announced over $107,000 in grants to reduce and prevent
crime in and around Birmingham.[READ]

These grants will help police and community organizations crack down on crime
with innovative procedures and anti-crime programs.



Governor Ivey celebrated the grants:



“These grants offer another tool to help law enforcement agencies and
community organizations take creative approaches to making our communities
safer … I am pleased to announce these funds to support anti-crime efforts in
the city of Birmingham.” – Governor Kay Ivey



>> Governor Ivey also just proclaimed September as Recovery Month in Alabama.

Addiction is the most pressing health emergency in America, and Alabamians are
hurting, too.



Governor Ivey hopes her proclamation of Recovery Month will break the stigma,
raise awareness of addiction, and urge Alabamians to reach out for support when
they are struggling.
