More evidence is surfacing that Trump and some Republicans are starting to understand what McConnell really is. See article at the end of this tweet storm.

Trump knows that I had the privilege of being the first Republican to nationally announce that McConnell has to go.

Just 5 days after that nationally televised Fox debate McConnell convinced Trump to ask Fox News Chairman Murdoch for “help to beat” me and so Murdoch and Fox did.

Trump is four years late but at least he seems to be aware now that McConnell is an AINO, I.e. “American In Name Only”.
