Dear Georgian,

Happy Labor Day weekend to all of the hardworking men and women who make America and Georgia great!

Last week, President Biden gave a divisive and shameful speech where he compared conservative Republicans to the likes of terrorists. This is coming from the same President who disregards real known terrorists who are crossing our border with record levels of fentanyl that’s killing thousands, and the same President who gave the OPEC Cartel control of our energy and sold our oil reserves to the Communist Chinese Government.

Biden disregarded top military officials on his National Security Team, which led to the botched withdrawal of Afghanistan, where billions in U.S. military equipment fell to the Taliban, and 13 U.S. service members died. His government overspending and abuse of taxpayer dollars crashed our economy into a recession, and he has the nerve to say that anyone who criticizes him is wrong?

We have every right to criticize his failed regime, and my Republican colleagues and I will continue to do so.

September is Passport Awareness Month! Because the number of people traveling in the fall and winter is lower than in the spring and summer months, this time of year is the prime opportunity to make sure your passport is updated. Taking care of your passport now will prepare you for any unexpected or exciting trips you may have planned later. For more information on acquiring or renewing a passport, visit the link here.

As 2023 approaches, the House Agriculture Committee is working toward the next Farm Bill. This legislation shapes every aspect of ag policy and it’s critical that voices in the Eighth District are heard. We need to know what’s working and what can be improved. If you are a farmer, take a moment to provide feedback here.

As always, my staff and I are here to help. If you need assistance with a federal agency or have comments or concerns to share with me, please do not hesitate to call my Warner Robins, Tifton, or Washington, D.C. offices. To receive frequent updates, I encourage you to visit my website, like my Facebook page, follow me on YouTube, and follow me on Twitter.

Keep reading for the full update.

Sincerely,

New York Post | Californians asked to not charge electric cars — days after gas ban announcement

"California residents are being asked not to charge their electric vehicles to conserve energy amid a brutal heatwave — just days after the state announced a plan to ban sales of new gas-powered cars by 2035.

The plea comes as the Golden State sizzles in triple-digit temperatures, but the irony of the appeal was not lost on critics of the ambitious plan, expected to set the pace for a national and international shift to electric vehicles.

US House Republican Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) derided the about-face as a 'joke.'"
