To keep putting our government on the side of families, we’re going to need to protect our Democratic House majority this fall — and we’re going to need to elect leaders who are ready to fight tooth and nail for the big, structural change we need.

So with both of those goals in mind, I’ve got two recommendations for candidates you can support today.

Nikki Budzinski is our Democratic nominee in Illinois 13th District — one of our best opportunities to flip a seat that’s currently held by a Republican. As a grassroots movement, we supported her in her primary this year because she has a record of delivering results for working people, and now it’s time to make sure she wins in November.

David Segal is running in Rhode Island’s 2nd District — currently rated a tossup — and his Democratic primary is coming right up on September 13. I’ve worked with him on bold policies to put our government on the side of working people, and I know he’s exactly the type of leader we need more of in Congress.

If you’re able to right now, will you split a contribution between Nikki Budzinski, David Segal, and Warren Democrats? Your donation will help protect and expand our House majority, make sure we’ve got strong fighters in office, and elect Democrats up and down the ballot.

Here’s a little more background on these two candidates, and why I’m very happy to support them.

Nikki Budzinski has proven her chops as a champion for working people. She led the successful campaign to raise the minimum wage in Illinois, and she’s an experienced labor advocate who fought for better pay and safe working conditions for retail workers and meatpackers with the United Food and Commercial Workers. If we get her across the finish line this November, she’ll fight from the heart to pass a federal $15 minimum wage, make it easier for workers to join a union, and make sure everyone has a fighting chance at making it to the middle class.

As a city councilor and state legislator, David Segal showed that he could bring broad coalitions together to achieve concrete change. He’s taken his advocacy nationwide, and I’ve worked with him on plans to level the economic playing field, support a responsible foreign policy, and build a government that Americans can trust to work for them. He is thoughtful, principled, and ready to hit the ground running in Congress — ready to put power in the hands of working people, where it belongs.

But national Republicans are determined to defeat Nikki Budzinski as they try to claw their way into a House majority. And we still need to help get David through his primary before he can defend this tossup seat.

To help make sure we hold onto the House and elect champions for working people up and down the ballot, can you split a donation between Nikki Budzinski, David Segal, and our re-election campaign today?
