Indivisibles,
It’s been six years since we launched the Indivisible Guide. What started
out as a Google Doc has since grown into a nationwide network of thousands
of local groups fighting for progressive values and policies. Today, we
want to talk a little bit about our GROW Grants program -- one of the ways
we’re providing direct support to local groups across the country.
  GrassRoots Organizing Wins (GROW)
Indivisible’s GROW grant program is designed to empower local groups to
achieve their goals by directly funding the work they lead. Every month,
grants are awarded for projects designed by groups and the money helps pay
for supplies, trainings, venues, tools, and more. With the help of this
funding, Indivisible groups are able to grow their memberships, strengthen
cross-group collaboration, and emerge stronger than before.
The program is now in its third year and we have received a record number
of applications. So far this year, we have been able to award over
$100,000 to more than 200 groups. As examples of the amazing work these
grants have helped fund, here are a few of the 2022 GROW grant recipients
   and their projects:

Indivisible Colorado Action Network used their grant money to help fund a
statewide summit that featured guest speakers, workshops, and cross-group
networking opportunities. Attendees were able to receive training on how
to build a successful Indivisible group; putting diversity, equity, and
inclusion principles into action; electoral activism; and more. They
intended for Colorado groups at this event to "network with each other,
share best practices, and collaborate on future efforts.”
After successfully applying in February, Ohio Progressive Action Leaders
(OPAL) used their grant to help pay for relational texting tools and fees,
design software, and illustration costs for social media content. Their
project aimed to expand on their already-successful communication
trainings and connect volunteers with voter engagement activities,
including OPAL’s campaign to send over 200,000 texts to voters.

Concord Indivisible in New Hampshire used their grant award to help fund
the relaunch of the group’s community “Huddles”: an in-person meeting
program started during the 2020 election cycle to engage local volunteers
in a variety of targeted actions. The program converted to an online
format during the pandemic and the relaunch served as a high-energy
kick-off of new in-person gatherings over Summer 2022.
With significant redistricting and a vacancy in their House district,
Indivisible Ulster NY19 recognized that a lot of voter education was
needed before the August special election and November midterm.
Collaborating with two other Indivisible groups, they used their grant to
send over 5,000 postcards to voters in addition to their other GOTV
efforts. The project helped them recruit new volunteers and energize
   members around the midterm elections.

Democracy Project, a branch of Indivisible 49, used their grant money to
fund their first voter registration events. In the process of registering
voters, they connected with neighbors, community leaders, and other
grassroots groups. These relationships opened new avenues for community
outreach and GOTV opportunities while also elevating Democracy Project’s
   profile in the district.
GROW Grants are a critical part of Indivisible’s success because they
prove that when we empower local groups, we all win.
So, how can we continue to support Indivisible groups?
This year, we were able to expand our program budget which means we can
provide bigger grants to more groups, every month. Like all of our work
here at Indivisible National, we rely on grassroots contributions to help
fund our GROW Grants program. [ [link removed] ]If you can, donate $10 today to help us
continue to provide funding for locally-led projects that grow and
strengthen Indivisible groups across the country.
We’ll be announcing the August award recipients soon and we look forward
to the next round of applications! If your Indivisible group is interested
in applying for a grant, the next application deadline is September 20 at
11:59pm PT. [ [link removed] ]Click here to learn more about our GROW grant
