Friend, this is a defining moment for our country.
The president has abused the office for his own personal and political gain. And Congress has introduced articles of impeachment -- the Constitutionally mandated remedy for high crimes and misdemeanors committed by a US president.
If we let flagrant abuses of power at the highest levels of government go unanswered, then we will cease to be a nation of laws.
Today I marched with hundreds of Texans to send a resounding message -- that both Republicans and Democrats in Congress must vote for the impeachment of Donald Trump and put the country first.
After weeks of testimony from nonpartisan diplomatic professionals, government employees, and legal scholars, the facts are clear: Donald Trump held up taxpayer money that Congress had designated for foreign aid in an effort to have Ukraine interfere in the 2020 election -- and he has refused to recognize Congress as a co-equal branch of government during its investigation into his corruption.
Congress must act to protect our Constitution and democracy.
Right now, two articles of impeachment (on abuse of power and obstruction of Congress) are being debated. We all need to make our voices heard before the articles are voted on tomorrow. Please stand with me and tell Congress to uphold its Constitutional duty and impeach Donald Trump.

I've made clear from the start that I'm running to end the healthcare affordability crisis, address the climate crisis at the scale required by fighting for 100% renewable energy, and unrig our economy so that it works for everyone, not just those at the top. And there are many things I'd rather be talking about today than Donald Trump's scandals.
But his behavior has gone far beyond the "standard" political corruption that we have become so inured to in this country. Donald Trump is subverting our democratic process -- and if we're going to make the bold changes we need to, we have to defend our democracy.
If you believe in free and fair elections -- the principles so many in this country have died to uphold -- then I need you to speak up. And I want to get at least 2,500 more signatures by tonight.
