Friend –

I've met with many people impacted by the First Step Act and have been moved to tears. But this moment has been exceptionally emotional and personal.

My friend, Damon Walker – who carried me during my most crushing moment in federal prison when I lost my nephew – is HOME! Damon was sentenced to nearly 40 years in prison, served 20 years behind bars and is now reunited with his community and loved ones because of the First Step Act.

The brotherhood we shared together has meant the world to me, and I’m honored to share this video of his homecoming with you.

Ps. You make this work possible. Support the work we do to cut our incarcerated population in half by making a one-time donation to support criminal justice reform. Each dollar you donate in the month of July will be doubled by a generous donor committed to criminal justice reform. <[link removed]>
