Dear John,

The media has stopped talking about it, but baby formula shortages are STILL happening right in our neighborhoods.

Sure, the “nightly newscasts” several months ago showed numerous giant USAF cargo planes flying into air bases in the Midwest full of pallets of desperately needed formula, but this issue is still plaguing parents of infants across our country and right here in our own communities.

A recent visit to several of the Walgreens stores in the 4th District confirmed my suspicions that the Biden administration prizes photo opportunities rather than real problem solving.

Parents are driving from store to store to find empty shelves. It’s a huge burden, taking time and money away from families. What if baby has special needs or dietary restrictions? Who can afford this when gas prices are already sky high and everything costs a fortune right now?

Supply shortages have been driving inflation and what have you seen done about this?

More spending. (And none of these dollars are going to trouble shooting...unless tens of thousands of IRS agents plan to tackle this issue, but I digress.)

Today's reality is driven by yesterday's policies, and yesterday's policies are driven by our career politicians. A friend recently defined "politicians" as "single-minded seekers of re-election" and that couldn't be more true. We need problem solvers in Washington, not folks content to warm seats at the Capital.

I'm Courtney Geels and I’m a nurse running to represent you in Congress. I need your help fighting these career politicians.

My husband and I dream of having our first child one day and being able to provide for that baby in lots of ways, but most certainly at the very basic of needs: FOOD.

Together, I know we can build a better future for our children.

For truth, justice, and unity,

Courtney Geels
