Hey John,
My name is Jazmin Cazares and I lost my sister, Jackie, and my cousin, Annabell, during the Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde, Texas.
This past Saturday, I rallied outside of the state capitol and governor’s mansion with other families from Uvalde to demand that Governor Abbott call a special session to raise the minimum age to buy an assault weapon in Texas. We were joined by hundreds of Texans from across the state, including survivors and victims’ families, telling their stories and forcing Governor Abbott to confront the human cost of his inaction.
Kids are returning to school soon, and yet Governor Abbott has done absolutely nothing to tackle gun violence or stop the next mass shooting. At the rally, my dad read a letter of demands to the governor, that starts with calling a special session to raise the age from 18 to 21 to buy an assault weapon.
John, can you sign on in support of Governor Abbott calling an emergency session to raise the minimum age to buy an assault weapon in Texas?

Since Governor Abbott assumed office, child gun deaths have nearly doubled in Texas due to his reckless policies. He must act now before more innocent lives are stolen to these weapons of war because of his inaction. If he doesn’t act, we’ll force him to move out of the way come November.
Sign on to demand Governor Abbott call a special session to raise the minimum age to buy an assault weapon.
In solidarity,
Jazmin Cazares
