John,
August is always the slowest month for fundraising, but it’s been PACKED with huge developments, so we’re hoping we can turn it around before our midnight deadline.
|
August 2: Kansas voters REJECTED an amendment that could have banned abortion in the state, with even voters in Republican strong-holds coming out and voting against it
August 5: Democrats pulled AHEAD in the generic ballot for the first time all year
August 8: The FBI executed a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago, putting Donald Trump and his potential crimes back in the headlines, which is NEVER good for Republican poll numbers
August 16: Joe Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act, a TRANSFORMATIONAL law that reduces costs for families, combats climate change, lowers prescription drug prices, and makes healthcare more accessible.
|
August 23: Pat Ryan defied the odds by DEFEATING his extreme, anti-choice Republican opponent in NY-19’s special election, proving Democrats have the momentum heading into November
August 26: Mitch McConnell cancels MILLIONS of dollars in ad spending after extreme Republican nominees started tanking in the polls making the Senate look increasingly out of reach for the GOP
August 29: After a month full of Democratic accomplishments, including announcing historic student debt relief, President Biden’s approval ratings SHOT UP 6 points
August 31: Our August fundraising deadline is at MIDNIGHT, and we need the resources to turn this momentum into support for Democratic candidates running in tough districts. But our fundraising is slowing down at the worst time possible.
Will you please contribute ANYTHING you can right now so that we can hit our August goal and help as many Democrats as possible in the final 69 days before Election Day?
