John, Majority
Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Joe Manchin are working on a bill that
would fasttrack the Mountain Valley Pipeline.

[ [link removed] ]We need to show the strength of our movement and combat this dirty
deal. Will you join us for a major rally on Thursday, September 8th
outside the U.S. Capitol to demand that Congress stop this side deal?

John,

Our movement’s organizing won us historic climate provisions in the
recently-passed Inflation Reduction Act. But now, Majority Leader Chuck
Schumer is working with Senator Joe Manchin on a new side deal that could
severely weaken the climate legislation provisions we won and would force
completion of the Mountain Valley Pipeline.

The Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP) is an unfinished, unwanted, unnecessary
303-mile-long fracked gas pipeline that is steamrolling its way through
Virginia and West Virginia. The pipeline threatens fresh water, land, and
life in Appalachia and would be a disaster for frontline communities. This
is unacceptable.

That’s why on Thursday, September 8th, 2022 the Stop Mountain Valley
Pipeline coalition and People vs. Fossil Fuels coalition will convene
outside the Capitol to #StopMVP, show massive public opposition to
Manchin’s pipeline side deal, and unite with Appalachian frontline
communities. We want you there,
John.

We’re bringing Appalachian resistance to D.C. so that decision makers will
hear our demand to stop MVP and stop Manchin's dirty pipeline deal.

If passed, Manchin and Schumer’s side deal would gut bedrock environmental
protections, threaten tribal authority, endanger public health, fast-track
fossil fuel projects, cut public input, and force approval for the
Mountain Valley Pipeline.

Frontline communities in Appalachia – and across the country – are
continuously being used as bargaining chips in this so-called
Manchin/Schumer side deal. We can’t allow communities to be sacrificed to
more oil and gas drilling, pipelines, and climate disasters!

[ [link removed] ]Join us on September 8th so we can make it clear that we are NOT
sacrifice zones! Add your voices to stop the Mountain Valley Pipeline and
Manchin’s dirty deal!

In the last few weeks, we’ve made great strides on climate. Congress can’t
pass a historic climate bill that invests in clean energy and then take
three steps back with a fossil fuel permitting bill. Let’s keep winning
for our people and planet.

In solidarity,

Team 350

P.S. If you can’t make it to the action, you can still support our
coalition! [ [link removed] ]Will you share the RSVP page on social media or via email?
