We wanted to give you some more information on the critical end-of-month goal Amy emailed about last night. Like she said, we need to raise $50,000 in the next three days so we can build on our investments to defeat Donald Trump’s hand-picked secretary of state candidates and stop his plot to rig the 2024 election.
Here’s why: We’ve spent the last four months learning a lot about the voters we need to target, the most effective ways to talk to them, and how many resources it will take. If we can add $50,000 to the budget before we get into the chaos that is September of an election year, we know that we’ll be able to reserve more ad inventory, reach more voters, and have a bigger impact. Now look, we all realize that $50,000 may not seem like a huge amount of money when it comes to what some of the most high-profile races spend. That’s one thing that makes these secretary of state races so remarkable: They can be won or lost on just a couple hundred thousand dollars. In 2018, the Republican who won Nevada’s secretary of state contest raised a total of $265,553.07 — over the entire year.
Once you do the math, you realize we have a real shot at defeating some of these extreme Trump-loyalist candidates — and that grassroots donations go farther on elections like this than almost anywhere else.
So please, consider pitching in whatever you can towards the goal before we get to September. It makes a bigger difference than you might think in these critical races — and it’s certainly going to make a difference in the fight to preserve our democracy. [[link removed]]
