Dear John,
Black-led nonprofits are at the heart of serving our communities, but they are routinely underfunded and left behind by the philanthropic and progressive donor community.
The Young Black & Giving Back Institute provides an opportunity for us to right this wrong through Give 8/28 Day — the only giving event dedicated to fundraising for Black-led, Black-benefiting nonprofit organizations.
Give 8/28 Day starts today and will continue through August 31.
The National Partnership is proud to be an official sponsor again this year, and we are specifically trying to lift up a group of 55 maternal health and reproductive justice organizations — two issues central to the National Partnership’s mission.
To support these incredible groups, go to our Give 8/28 Day page and choose the organization that inspires you. Spoiler alert: they’re all amazing!
August 28th is an important moment for us to reflect on the people who have demanded a better world at the most difficult of times. It’s the anniversary of Emmett Till’s murder (1955), Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech (1963), Hurricane Katrina’s devastation (2005), and Barack Obama’s acceptance of the Democratic nomination (2008).
Go to our Give 8/28 Day page today to join in and show your support.
Thank you!
