Welcome to another edition of FT Now! This week we're leading with
some good news for parents in New Hampshire. Pretty soon, it'll be
"Bring Your Infant to Work Day" - every day. Democrat governors and
gubernatorial candidates are now tied to the hip with liberal activist
Stacey Abrams. They should be careful what they wish for. Last but not
least, yet another Democrat governor seems open to considering...wait
for it...a rain tax. Read below for more!

Governor Chris Sununu is Making Life Easier For Working Parents

What Happened:

New Hampshire Republican Governor Chris Sununu announced a new
initiative this week that will allow new parents to bring children ages
six weeks to six months to work.

Why You Should Care:

Working parents and advocates are already praising the new initiative
for how it promises to ease the burden of childcare on new parents.
"This initiative can provide working families with options to give their
kids the healthiest possible start to life while allowing them to remain
in the workforce if they choose to do so," said Gov. Sununu.

What Happens Next:

More than 20 state agencies and departments have chosen to participate
in the program so far. While more could follow, this is a great first
step in alleviating much of the stress new parents feel in the
workplace.

Democrat Governors Now Own Stacey Abrams' Radical Positions

What Happened:

The Democratic Governors Associations has announced a new partnership
with radical left-wing activist and failed gubernatorial candidate
Stacey Abrams. Yes, the same Stacey Abrams who refused to concede her
2018 race in Georgia.

Why You Should Care:

Abrams is known for taking extreme policy positions (illegal immigrants
should be allowed to vote, for example), and now every Democrat
gubernatorial candidate should have to account for them. If you were
looking for more proof that the Democratic Party is moving further to
the left, now you have it.

What Happens Next:

Expect Abrams - and her radical rhetoric - to be a fixture on the
campaign trail in 2020.

Tax-Hiking Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker Open To A Rain Tax

What Happened:

Apparently, J.B. Pritzker's administration is open to instituting a
rain tax on the people of Illinois as a way to raise more revenue.

Why You Should Care:

Tax hikes seem to be Pritzker's go-to move. In his first year as
governor, he pushed for 19 tax increases that total a whopping $7
billion. He supports scrapping the state's flat tax and has thrown his
weight behind a progressive income tax plan that would cost the average
Illinois family up to $3,500. It's no surprise he supports taxing the
rain!

What Happens Next:

No doubt Pritzker will stay true to form and continue treating Illinois
families like piggy banks for his liberal, big-government agenda.
