We will never forget the 13 brave fallen heroes who gave everything to save the lives of Americans and our allies in Kabul, Afghanistan on this day last year. My heart is with their loved ones, including of Southern California marines LCpl Dylan Merola, LCpl Kareem Nikoui and Cpl Hunter Lopez. Their names and stories are with us always.

U.S. Marine Sgt. David Nick Traylor, a constituent from La Habra, was wounded at the Kabul airport in Afghanistan last year. He plans to join the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to honor Cpl. Hunter Lopez, his friend and fellow SoCal marine who was killed in the attack. We will never forget.

I visited with the team at the USPS Distribution Center in Anaheim to learn more about their operations, robust veterans hiring program and important work to deliver packages to customers and keep our supply chain moving.
