Friend,

You’ve heard a lot about how important Arizona is. Why is The Lincoln Project so focused there? Take a minute and see just how important each race is there and why we believe our unique message will be critical to victory this fall:

GOVERNOR: Democrat Katie Hobbs is up roughly three to four points on ultra-MAGA Kari Lake for Governor. The Governor of Arizona has a huge role in the electoral process — including certification and signing voting laws into effect. This race is so critical that we’re airing ads to key voters right now to make sure they know just how disastrous Kari Lake would be (watch it now) >> <[link removed]>

SECRETARY OF STATE: The GOP has also nominated a prominent election denier, Mark Finchem, for Secretary of State. He’s certifiable. He already tried to overturn the 2020 election. And he could be in charge of Arizona’s elections in 2024. If he’s in charge, he’s handing the state to Trump. It’s that simple. Polls have him neck and neck with Adrian Fontes, the Democrat who’s running to protect the integrity of the elections.

US SENATE: Where should we start with Blake Masters, who’s running against incumbent Democrat Mark Kelly for Senate? Calling him a neo-Nazi is an understatement. Pointing out just how far off the deep end he’s gone is a rabbit hole too long for this email. The good news? Even Fox News is showing Masters down 8-10 points against Kelly – but we have to do the work to keep Kelly in the Senate and stop the ultra-MAGA GOP from winning the Senate.

We have three races to win in Arizona. We likely need to win all three to protect 2024 and beyond. That’s the fight, Friend. Are you with us? <[link removed]>

Our political team has scored Arizona as one of the states where we can make the most impact. It’s a combination of the number of races, the number of “Bannon line” voters we can move, and how effectively we can spend each critical dollar.

Why are we so focused on Arizona? It’s a triple opportunity to win THREE races that are critical to the survival of our democracy. The same voters we move off of Kari Lake will likely also move off of Finchem — and you can bet they aren’t going to ticket split and say “I won’t vote for Kari Lake because she’s a fascist… but I’ll vote for Blake Masters because I’m OK with him being a fascist.” Nope.

Resources are not unlimited this year. The reality is we are going to have to stay very focused. But a three-for-one-opportunity is too good to pass up. Over 2,000 Lincoln Project supporters have pitched in to help us win Arizona since we launched our latest Kari Lake ad last week. Make sure you’re one of them >> <[link removed]>

We have identified roughly 140,000 key voters who, once they know the truth about the ultra-MAGA crazy, are leaving the GOP and likely never coming back. When Joe Biden won Arizona by less than 11,000 votes in 2020, we have huge potential to put this state away for good. Who are they? Think parents in Maricopa County, college-educated Latino voters, and high-income older voters in Tuscon. We have all of them identified and will be pushing hard to hit each and every one of them with digital ads from here on out.

That’s the fight, folks. Thank you for keeping us in it.
