Another day, another conspiracy theory from my opponent. This time the conspiracies she believes could compromise our election security.

She wants to make it harder for states to exchange information to help clean up their voter rolls. These exchanges are especially valuable when people have moved from state to state, and they help to ensure that people don’t vote in more than one place.

But my opponent has joined a chorus of conspiracy theorists who claim that the multistate-run organization handling the information exchanges has enabled “left wing activists” to “control voter rolls” in participating states. She believes that even conservative states like Alabama, West Virginia, and Texas are victims of the plot that she imagines. So, she has called for pulling Minnesota out of these valuable election security arrangements. It’s ridiculous and dangerous.

We can’t afford to have a Secretary of State whose belief in conspiracy theories would harm our election security. With eleven weeks to the election, we need to get our message to as many voters as possible. We need to raise another $13k this week. Will you please consider chip in $5 or $10 now? [[link removed]]

If Minnesota stopped exchanging information with other states, the quality and security of our voter rolls would suffer.

We would no longer have the same ability to track double-voters, and we would no longer have the same ability to account for voters who have clearly moved to other states.

Collaborating with other states in ensuring our election security is a no-brainer. We don’t want an extremist overseeing our elections who would end such common sense practices.

That’s why I’m asking for your help. Will you chip in $10 or more right now to make sure that we have the resources to get our message to voters far and wide? [[link removed]]

Thanks for everything,

Steve
