Last week, Lizzie and our campaign met with precinct chairs in Fort Bend County, which is all new territory for #TeamLizzie. Together, we discussed how best to organize and mobilize ahead of Election Day.

This week marks 102 years since the 19th Amendment was adopted into law, giving women the right to vote. That year, over 8 million women voted for the first time.
Today, women’s rights, voting rights, civil rights, and equal rights are in danger. From the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade to the hundreds of voting restrictions that have been introduced across the country, the threats are real and they’re happening in plain sight.
We can honor the legacy of the suffragists who fought for our most fundamental rights by promoting a fair and inclusive democracy. By fighting for our right to privacy, autonomy, and dignity. And by making our voices heard at the ballot box this November.
The opportunity to make our voices heard in this year’s elections is coming up fast, too. As of tomorrow, we’ll be two months out from the start of early voting in Texas!
Make sure you and all the Texans you know are registered to vote here. The deadline for registering is October 11. [[link removed]]
The window to talk to voters before they start casting their ballots is shrinking. Want to help? Attend one of our weekly postcard parties!

We’re writing postcards to our neighbors in TX-07 to get out the vote. Our next party is this Thursday, August 25. You can RSVP to attend here. You can RSVP to attend here. [[link removed]]
Last month, Lizzie’s bill protecting the right to travel out of state for abortion care passed the House, and she’s not stopping there. She’s continuing to lead efforts to protect access to reproductive care for Texans and people across the country.
Newsweek:
“Democrats Propose Travel Grants for Those Seeking Out-of-State Abortions”
July 21, 2022
Lizzie introduced a bill that, if passed, would help ease financial burdens placed on people who travel long distances for abortion care in a post- Roe world. That’s especially crucial for the thousands of people in Texas and other states who are traveling out of state each month for reproductive care — Texans are traveling an average of 542 miles to get the care they need.
It’s so important we know where our elected leaders stand on issues like reproductive rights, so come November, we vote for people we know will fight for the issues that matter to us, treat them with the urgency they demand, and stand up for our freedoms.
Thanks for being part of the team,
Team Lizzie
