A redesign of the entire transit system will begin with downtown, and it kicks off tomorrow.
Riders must demand that this redesign process expands service and reverses recent cuts.
The process is still in the early stages - but we're putting one demand out front of our organizing: a redesign of our system must expand service and reverse the cuts that have happened since the start of the pandemic. Please join the two meetings this week to learn more about the redesign process and uplift this demand with us.

The website that PRT put together for this downtown network redesign is strong. It gives some good background on different planning efforts and the type of information that will be informing their decisions. If you love maps, then you'll especially love the site, as they give the ability to layer some interesting data for a deep look into how our downtown transit functions.

It's the transit advocate's social event of the season! Join PPT for our Summer Party; August 10th, 6-8pm in Schenley Park.
On August 10th, at the Bartlett Shelter in Schenley Park, PPT Members had reason to celebrate. It was the organization’s Summer Party and the first time that Members had gotten together in-person. Even though the pandemic pushed us to organize in different ways than we had ever before, PPT members have been busy winning campaigns and supporting our neighbors.

Get union strong with PPT & ATU at Labor Day Parade ’22! September 5th, 9am-12pm.
Join PPT and Amalgamated Transit Union Local 85 as we march in the first in-person Labor Day Parade since the pandemic’s start! PPT is a grassroots union of both transit riders and transit workers. We know that we are the ones using the system every day and that together, we have the knowledge needed to improve conditions for us all. One of our most fun celebrations of this community-union solidarity is when we march in the Pittsburgh Labor Day Parade – which is the oldest Labor Day Parade in the country!

The Campaign is LIVE - UPMC: Pay What You Owe!
Last Friday, Pittsburghers for Public Transit joined our allies to kick off a new campaign to get UPMC to pay what they owe the city in taxes. UPMC made over $1.4 Billion in profits last year, and they are the largest land-owner in Pittsburgh, but because they have filed as a "charity" they pay ZERO in taxes to any of the resources that supports them - like roads, sidewalks, schools, public works, or city staff capacity.
Join PPT, Pittsburgh United, the Restaurant Opportunity Center PA, Pittsburgh Restaurant Workers Mutual Aid, Just Harvest and the Black Workers Center and demand that UPMC finally pay their fair share towards supporting our city. Sign the petition and follow the campaign today.
