I have to tell you–when I read the news this weekend, I was shocked. I am beyond disappointed by the actions Republicans have taken to block innovation and progress in the face of climate change. It is irresponsible. Funded by the far-right conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation, Republican Treasurers have used power and money to execute a secret collective strategy that would directly harm our environment, our communities, and our future.
When Republicans coordinate irresponsible and harmful plans like this, the entire world pays the price. We only have a small window of time to address climate change–and any attempts to decentivize environmentally friendly solutions are absolutely unacceptable.
John, I am committed to doing everything in my power to incentivize efforts to reduce negative impacts of climate change. But beyond that, I am committed to conducting myself ethically and responsibly in this elected office–something my Republican counterparts across the country have failed to do.
Our state deserves better than to have our climate justice initiatives curbed by secret coordinated plans. Delawareans deserve transparency and respect from our leaders, not secrecy and scheming. That's why I'm running for reelection–to honorably, responsibly, and respectfully serve our state.
