John,

Yesterday, we received a letter signed by prominent Queens community and neighborhood leaders expressing their support for Jon Kaiman's campaign for Congress. We wanted to share that letter with you here:

August 19, 2022

Dear Neighbor,

We hold leadership roles in many community and neighborhood organizations in Queens and come together to urge you to vote for Jon Kaiman in the August 23, 2022 Democratic Primary for Congress. As you may know Rep. Tom Suozzi decided not to seek re-election. We are most fortunate that our friend Jon Kaiman, a tested, trusted and ready public servant, seeks election as our next Member of Congress. Jon has visited our communities throughout from Whitestone to Queens Village and every neighborhood in between – Le Havre, Beechhurst, Auburndale, Bay Terrace, Bayside, Douglaston, Beech Hills, Deepdale, Little Neck, North Shore Towers, Glen Oaks, Floral Park, New Hyde Park, Bellerose and Bell Park – and discussed our local concerns, including crime and safety, unfair escalating co-op and homeowner property taxes, protecting a women’s right to choose, and insufficient bus service and more.

Throughout his career – including as Supervisor for the Town of North Hempstead, District Court Judge, and NYS Advisor for Superstorm Sandy, Jon Kaiman has served and fought for the rights of residents throughout New York State. He knows how government works. He has faced and met many challenges in the various roles he has played. He has been tested and is ready to represent us in the United States Congress.

Feeling safe in our communities is of paramount concern. In Congress, Jon Kaiman will ban deadly assault weapons, close loopholes, and mandate background checks. He’ll ensure that our police and prosecutors have the resources that they need to keep us safe. And he’ll fight for programs that help reduce violence, address mental illness and keep guns off the streets.

Jon Kaiman will focus on our economy to ensure we tackle inflation, reduce energy costs through investment in renewable energy sources, and provide access to affordable health care. He’ll protect Social Security and Medicare and bring down the cost of prescription drugs. He will support legislation to codify Roe v. Wade and enshrine that the rights of women are protected in all 50 states.

Throughout his career, Jon Kaiman has created programs that support our aging residents, protect our environment, and make government more accessible to everyday people. Prior to running for elected office, he practiced as a private attorney holding a Juris Doctorate from Hofstra Law School and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Harvard University.

NY-03 also extends to all of the Town of North Hempstead, City of Glen Cove and most of Oyster Bay Town in Nassau. Though the district crosses the city line, it shares a suburban character we want to continue to enjoy. Jon Kaiman and his wife, Kim have been longtime residents of Great Neck and raised their 3 children with a strong connection to Queens; enjoying visits to the Queens Farm and walks in Little Bay Park. With Jon Kaiman as our next Member of Congress, we will have a representative who shares our values and will fight for us in Washington. Please join us in voting for Jon Kaiman for Congress. The Democratic primary takes place Tuesday, August 23rd and Early Voting from August 13th through August 21st.

Thank you,

/S/
