I recently launched a summer workforce initiative and website: TX24Works.com, a one-stop shop with links and information on workforce opportunities in North Texas. This week, we highlighted the manufacturing industry, which encompasses thousands of jobs around DFW. I have met with many vocational schools and businesses looking to employ Texas’ next generation of workers, and I am excited to provide these resources to North Texans and empower our workforce. Watch my short video below to learn more. As part of this week's manufacturing focus, my office hosted a roundtable with North Texas manufacturing leaders to discuss ways we can connect folks with jobs in this important industry, specifically students and veterans. I look forward to bringing these solutions to light and ensuring our hopeful students and heroic veterans have the tools necessary for a successful career in our community. Next week, I'll be highlighting the aviation industry, which encompasses DFW Airport – the second largest airport in the country. On Monday, you can visit TX24Works.com/aviation to learn more. My colleagues and I on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee are concerned the Biden administration will direct Amtrak to use taxpayer funds to transport illegal immigrants. This would cause disruptions for Amtrak customers, exacerbate the supply chain crisis, and spend an unconscionable amount of taxpayer dollars. That's why we wrote a letter to the President and CEO of Amtrak, which you can read about here. I was honored to be named the American Trucking Associations' Trucking Champion of the Month. Without the resilient men and women in the trucking industry spending weeks on end away from their families, the American economy would crumble. You can read more about my work to support them here. Hometown Hero of the Week As this week marked the first week of school around North Texas, I’d like to recognize all of the incredible teachers of Texas-24 as this week’s Hometown Heroes! Rep. Van Duyne on Twitter Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your voice in Washington. To stay up to date on what's happening each week, follow me on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, GETTR, Parler, Rumble, and YouTube. Please do not hesitate to contact my office if we can ever be of service to you. Sincerely, Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne (TX-24) Rep.
