John,

In his concurring opinion for the case that overturned Roe v. Wade, Justice Clarence Thomas wrote that the Supreme Court ought to revisit other landmark cases that protected fundamental rights — including Obergefell v. Hodges, which established the right to same-sex marriage in every state.

We need to take this possibility very seriously, and it's why Georgia needs an Attorney General who is unequivocal about protecting marriage equality. But Chris Carr is not that Attorney General.

Axios reported this week that Carr refused to state his position on marriage equality — only that he "vowed to continue defending the state's constitution." That's deeply concerning, because Georgia's constitution since 2004 has prohibited same-sex marriage.

We have 81 days to replace Chris Carr with a leader who will actually commit to protecting fundamental rights. John, will you chip in $10 (or any amount) to help us continue to make our case to Georgians?

Chris Carr can't bring himself to say it, but I will: as the people's lawyer, I'll stand up for LGBTQ+ Georgians and do everything in my power to protect them.

It's clear that this current Supreme Court isn't done chipping away at our fundamental rights. We need advocates at the state level who are prepared to fight on behalf of vulnerable communities. Anything less is unacceptable.

I'm not afraid to take a stand (unlike Chris Carr) — and it's time Georgians had a leader with courage. So please, pitch in whatever you can to help us win in 81 days by clicking here: [link removed]

Thank you,

Jen

--------------

Democratic State Senator Jen Jordan (pronounced Jer-Dun) has spent her legal career fighting for Georgians. Because of her real-life experience in the courtroom and out of it, Jen knows that now, more than ever, we need an Attorney General who will take a stand and fight for the rights of each and every Georgian.
