Celebrate and learn about Guaranteed Income Saturday the 20th at Ninth Street Bakery!







From 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., StepUp Durham <[link removed]> will be co-hosting a free event with?The City of Durham?and?Ninth Street Bakery. Register <[link removed]> for the Guaranteed Income Community Social and learn about the power of Guaranteed Income and the impact it has on the lives of Durham community members.



The PA Economic Justice Team <[link removed]> has been tracking this effort.

Expect food, wonderful stories of impact, a raffle, giveaways and activities for the kids such as a balloon artist and a magician!



StepUp?Durham is administering the?Excel <[link removed]>?Guaranteed Income pilot program. Ninth Street Bakery has also launched a direct-cash payment program called?Durham Neighbors <[link removed]>.

The PA-PAC will host an endorsement meeting in September (see below). Take time now to renew your membership so you can vote at the meeting. New members (before July 9th) can speak but not vote.

Transit is fundamental to Economic Justice in Durham. Take the time to review and make your voice heard.



PAC endorsement Meeting September 7th



The People's Alliance PAC will host a virtual endorsement meeting on Wednesday, September 7 beginning at 6 p.m.



To attend you must:



(1) be a current member of People's Alliance <[link removed]>, and



(2) register <[link removed]> to attend the endorsement meeting.



People's Alliance PAC members will consider endorsements in races for Sheriff, and Soil and Water Supervisor. We will also consider an endorsement regarding a bond referendum that will appear on the November ballot. <[link removed]>



In order to attend the virtual endorsement meeting, a person must be a current member of the People's Alliance AND have registered for the meeting by September 5, 2022. There is no guarantee that someone who pays dues or registers after September 5 will be able to attend the meeting.



In order to vote at the endorsement meeting, a person must have been a member for at least 60 days prior to the meeting. July 9, 2022 is the last day a new member could have joined to be eligible to vote at this meeting. All current members may speak at the meeting.?



Registrants who are current members of the People's Alliance will receive a Zoom link for the meeting on or about September 6.
