Let’s be clear, this is a huge record of accomplishment for a 50-50 Senate. We’ve closed the boyfriend loophole and enacted new red flag laws to curb gun violence, invested in manufacturing, supply chains, clean energy, and health care to bring down inflation, saved our economy from collapse during the pandemic, and begun the process of modernizing it for the 21st century.

But our work isn’t finished. We still need to address the housing crisis, protect voting rights and reproductive freedom, do more for our climate and gun safety, and safeguard our democracy ahead of Donald Trump’s eventual 2024 presidential campaign bid.
