Today, the impeachment articles have passed out of committee and are headed for a vote in the full House of Representatives. From there, the Senate will have its say.

The House has demonstrated to the American people that there is ample cause to move forward with the impeachment of this president. It was a great example of our representatives following their constitutional duty to oversee the executive branch. Without their serious consideration and drive, the President’s activity would have remained unchecked into the next election.

Before considering even a single piece of evidence, the Senate Majority Leader has met behind closed doors with the White House attorney and said, "There will be no difference between the President's position and our position in how to handle this."

In effect, it is like a jury meeting with the defendant and getting notes on how to handle the trial.
