And two weeks before the primary, one of her top rivals, Rocky Mount Mayor Sandy Roberson, made public hundreds of pages of opposition research detailing Smith’s divorces, bankruptcy, and alleged violent acts.”
Despite the domestic violence, child abuse, and conspiracy theories she brought as a candidate, Sandy Smith won the Republican nomination. Now she’s trying to take advantage of Congressman Butterfield’s retirement to flip this seat red.
I’m not being dramatic when I say NC-01 will be one of the closest races in the country this year. We can’t wait until November to dial up the action needed to win this race.
