Missouri Net News [link removed] Missouri Conference United Methodist Churches Receive Foundation for Evangelism Grants
Two Missouri Conference churches were among the 31 receiving grants from the Foundation for Evangelism in its inaugural Equipping Local Church Grants 2022 cycle. The grants total $230,000 with each of the 31 recipients receiving either $5,000, $7,500 or $10,000 depending on the proposed initiatives. The proposals were individually assessed by a review board and confirmed by the Foundation’s board of trustees.
A $5,000 grant was awarded to 80-Twenty UMC for online community growth. This is a new church start in St. Charles County. Rev. Amie Littrell is pastor. The 10-year vision of 80-Twenty Church is that 80% of our shared offerings would be returned to the hurting in the community and only 20% would be spent on organizational expenses.
A $7,500 grant was awarded to New Horizons UMC in St. Louis for the Project Better Together Dinner Church. The initiative aims to establish a Dinner Church that will meet on a regular basis for a meal followed by a time of devotion and discussion.
