It’s a big
day—today Peter Welch will cast his vote in the House for the largest
climate investment in our nation’s history. (And it never would’ve
happened with a Republican Senate.)
The Inflation Reduction Act will transform America by lowering costs for
working families, forcing big corporations to pay their fair share, and
making the largest climate investment in history. This bill will help us
cut U.S. emissions by 40% by 2030 and be pivotal to the just energy
transition we know our economy needs.
This bill wouldn’t have been possible without winning Senate seats in
Georgia and giving Democrats a narrow majority. It's an important reminder
of how much is at stake in this race. We must elect Peter, or risk losing
the Senate to Mitch McConnell and with it any chance of progress next
year.
