Michigan is one of the most important battleground states in the country – many times, the way Michigan goes is the way the nation goes.
Right now, the state is facing an onslaught of attacks by state lawmakers attempting to limit voters' fundamental rights. Within the past two years alone, nearly two dozen pieces of legislation have been introduced that would restrict access to the ballot box and change election administration laws. That's why it is so vital we combat these heinous attacks on our democracy.
Michiganders are putting up a fight against this assault with the Promote the Vote 2022 Constitutional Amendment.
If passed, Promote the Vote 2022 will establish new protections for voting rights in Michigan by...
✅ Requiring military or overseas ballots be counted if postmarked by Election Day.
✅ Providing voters the right to verify identity with photo ID or signed statement.
✅ Allowing voters to request an absentee ballot by mail for all future elections.
✅ Requiring secure drop boxes and robust absentee ballot tracking.
✅ Requiring election audits be conducted in public, by state and county election officials, based on established guidelines to promote accuracy and transparency.
✅ Requiring nine days of in-person, early voting.
✅ Requiring canvassing boards to certify election results based only on the official records of votes cast.
