Hi friends,

Tomorrow, I’ll vote to pass the Inflation Reduction Act. And I want to tell you a little bit about why this is such an important vote for me.

It is the honor of a lifetime to represent the Third District in Congress, especially when I have the opportunity to step up and advocate for my community in challenging times. I know that working families like the one I grew up in simply can’t afford a 9% increase to their cost of living, and we must act quickly to drive down prices for families. Parents should never have to worry about putting food on the table for their kids or paying for gas just to drive to work.

By capping health coverage costs and allowing Medicare to negotiate for lower drug prices, the Inflation Reduction Act is going to lower out of pocket costs for families. Economists across the board agree that these provisions will put downward pressure on the inflation we’ve seen in recent months, and it’ll keep families’ money where it belongs – in their pockets.

And in addition to fighting inflation, the Inflation Reduction Act makes unprecedented investments in domestic energy production and manufacturing. By incentivizing the use of clean energy, the bill will put us on track to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 40% by 2030! And it’ll save the average family over $1,000 a year in energy costs – which is a big win for working families and our climate.

Friends, this bill is full of provisions that will directly help working class Americans and I’m proud to stand fully behind it. It’s just one way that we’re putting people over politics and focusing on the real issues at hand. Now that I’ve told you a little bit about why this bill is such a key one, I would love to hear your thoughts – do you stand with me in support of the Inflation Reduction Act? [[link removed]]
