Email the Senate and Assembly Appropriations Committees

Take action TODAY - AVFCA has set up the emails for you!

August 9, 2022 Update: Yesterday, A Voice for Choice Advocacy asked you to call the offices of the legislators on the Senate and Appropriations committees. If you haven’t done that, please do that today. AVFCA’s Action Alert to do that is here [link removed] [[link removed]] .
Today we ask you to email the Appropriations staffers on each of these bills.

TAKE ACTION BEFORE 5PM TODAY, WEDNESDAY AUGUST 9:

A Voice for Choice Advocacy has made it easy for you to email the Appropriations Staggers on each of the bills. For staffers to read your email (and not assume it as a mass marketing campaign), it is important that your letter is personalized, so be sure to adapt the talking points into your words. You can use some of the talking points in the email but don't copy them!

1) For SB 1479 (Sen. Pan’s School Covid Testing Bill): Go to [link removed] [[link removed]]

2) SB 1419 (Sen. Becker’s Medical Consent Bill): Go to [link removed] [[link removed]]

3) For AB 1797 (Asm. Weber’s Immunization Registry Bill): Go to [link removed] [[link removed]]

4) AB 2098 (Asm. Low’s COVID Misinformation/Disinformation Bill): Go to [link removed] [[link removed]]

Those bills that make it out of the Assembly and Senate Appropriations committees this Thursday will then be vote on by the full Assembly and the full Senate, before going back to the other house for Concurrence and then on to the Governor's desk by September 1, 2022.

While the AVFCA team has taken a little time to decompress and rejuvenate during the break, we have also been lobbying our Democrat legislators and their staff, as well as other organizations that may take a stand against the bills we are opposing. A Voice for Choice Advocacy has been doing all we can to ensure the demise of the five remaining "bad" bills. But we can't do this without your support! While A Voice for Choice Advocacy's lobbying activity in the Capitol is important, your positive constituent relationships with your CA State Senator and Assembly Member ( [link removed] [[link removed]] ) and their staff are critical to assisting with A Voice for Choice Advocacy's efforts in the Capitol. If you haven't met with them, please be sure to sign up for their newsletters, go to their events, and ask their staff for a meeting. The next 3 weeks are critical.
