The headline in Rolling Stone refers to progressives like Justice
Democrats Summer Lee and Greg Casar. We helped them win primaries against
corporate Democrats and are ready to send them to Congress in November.

Summer says, "We’re here today because of decisions Democrats did not make
before, because of times when we were in power and squandered it."

This is how we change politics,
John. We help progressives
defeat corporate Democrats and build representation in Congress for
Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and so much more. And it’s not just
representation — the Squad is outspoken in its fight for the people and
unafraid to challenge Democratic leadership.

In 2018, we shook the political establishment in Washington when we helped
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez defeat the 4th most powerful corporate Democrat
in the House. The Squad began transforming Congress right away — our
unabashed fight for the people has led to progressive policy wins and
momentum for the Green New Deal and student debt cancellation.

Then, in 2020, we helped elect our first ever JD recruit, Cori Bush, along
with Jamaal Bowman. A larger squad has made a difference, adding more
voices to the fight for bold policies on Capitol Hill. And this year,
along with lifting Summer and Greg to huge primary wins, we’ve also helped
Rashida and Cori win tough primaries for re-election.

John, we know
how to win. We’ve been winning. But there’s a reason we can only support a
small number of candidates each year — it costs a lot of money. AND we’re
going up against the deep-pockets of corporate super PACs. We go all-in
for our candidates, which means we focus your small-dollar donations on a
few winnable races each election cycle.

But it’s not easy. Summer Lee faced more than $3 million in attack ads
from corporate super PACs. If we had more resources, we could expand our
work to grow the Squad.
