Congressman Al Green Joins President Biden for White House Signing of the CHIPS and Science Act

“It was an honor to be with my colleagues and President Biden at the White House today for the signing of H.R. 4346 – The CHIPS and Science Act, a bipartisan, bicameral bill that I proudly voted for. The CHIPS and Science Act primarily makes a major investment of over $50 billion to bolster semiconductor production in the United States. Additionally, this critical legislation to boost domestic productivity will create jobs for American workers, bolster scientific research, and increase professional opportunities in the STEM field, including for women as well as minorities who are underrepresented in the STEM workforce.”

“In addition to providing more opportunities for American families, increasing semiconductor chip manufacturing in the U.S. will help minimize disruptions to the supply chain, as well as diminish the scarcity of everyday products so many of us depend on – such as cars, cell phones, and washing machines – that rely on the use of semiconductors,” Congressman Al Green concluded. “I thank President Biden for his commitment to helping American workers and families thrive by signing the CHIPS and Science Act into law this morning.”
