Dear John,

A few weeks ago, I stumbled across a box of our archives (oh, the things you’ll find during an office move!). Inside was the original typewritten business plan that led to our incorporation in 1985. I found a letter from 1991 that then-Lieutenant Governor Bob Bullock sent to our late founder, Phil Strickland. I found past logos and letterheads, board minutes, and even handwritten notes outlining the value of quality early education from as far back as the early 1980’s — before some of our current staff members were even born! And there are so many familiar names in these documents of supporters who are still standing with us today.

It was a great reminder of what it takes to move the policy needle in Texas and how many supporters like you have stepped up over the years to ensure Texas children and families have a strong, unified voice at the Capitol. Thanks to your loyalty and support, we have much to celebrate this year. We successfully worked to expand full-day pre-k access all across our state, a win for Texas children literally over 30 years in the making. We improved the quality of child care centers all across Texas. We even ensured more teachers and school districts have the tools and trainings they need to support the mental well-being of their students.

We can’t afford to stop now. With your support, we’ve built momentum and look forward to an even more successful 2020 and beyond. Our state still has a long way to go to ensure all Texas children are healthy, safe, and on a path to reach their full potential.

Please donate today, and together we can make Texas a better place for children and families to call home.

Yes, I want to help! ([link removed])

I appreciate your continued generosity and wish you a happy end to the year, as well as a happy, healthy start to 2020.

With gratitude,

Stephanie RubinChief Executive Officer
