On Wisconsin’s primary election day, I have an important favor to ask. But before I do, please give me a chance to explain why this request is so important.

Here is the truth:

CNN and other election forecasters have consistently ranked Wisconsin’s Republican-held Senate seat among the top three most likely to flip this fall, but there’s a catch: The state also has one of the latest primary elections in the country.

So while my friend Mandela Barnes has strong support among Wisconsin Democrats, and a grassroots campaign funded by nearly 200,000 contributions, he has barely three months to compete head-to-head with incumbent GOP Sen. Ron Johnson in the general election.

In order for Mandela to overcome the obscene amounts of money that Mitch McConnell and his allied groups will be spending on negative attacks to save a Republican-held seat, we need to launch Mandela into the general election with the momentum and resources to share his vision across the state and motivate voters to the polls.

So this is why I ask.
