Dear Higb,

It's been a long, hot summer, but there's still plenty of action ahead this election season, including in a crucial Democratic Primary contest for congress!

Want to get engaged? Join Brooklyn Young Democrats at our next meeting to hear from candidates in the competitive Democratic primary for New York's 10th Congressional District!
RSVP Now!

Meet us at the outdoor patio of Mama Tried at 7:00pm on Monday 8/15, and get to know the top candidates in this important race for the newly redrawn NY-10, which includes lower Manhattan and Brooklyn neighborhoods stretching from Brooklyn Heights to Sunset Park.

We’ll ask each candidate to give a two-minute pitch, and then open the floor for questions from you. After that, candidates will stick around and mingle, so you can get to know them one-on-one!

BYD will be voting to endorse in this race, so now's your chance to get up to speed!

The bar is just a block from the 25th Street R station and the B37 bus stop. Join us to enjoy summer drinks, to connect with other young Democrats, and to help us shape this critical race. We hope to see you there!

Join us and our friends from Lambda Independent Democrats at Hinterlands Bar at 6:30pm on Wednesday, August 17th to play drag bingo and support BYD-endorsed candidate Kaegan Mays Williams in her run for State Senate District 21!

Kaegan's a mother and a former Manhattan Assistant DA who currently works for safer streets as Counsel at Everytown for Gun Safety. She's got big ideas for the district, which stretches from East Flatbush to Mill Basin, including combating food insecurity and improving access to reproductive health. But she's in a very competitive primary race, and needs your support to ensure her campaign stays strong in this crucial stretch.

Come hang out, play games and help Kaegan win!

Say Hello to Kellan Calder, the New Chair of BYD's Women's Caucus!

We're thrilled to announce that Kellan Calder is taking the reigns as the chair of BYD's Women's Caucus!

Kellan is a lifelong New Yorker and resident of Flatbush. She is a proud product of public schools, including a bachelors degree in Political Science from Queens College where she concentrated in Women’s Studies.

Kellan was previously the Brooklyn Can’t Wait nominee for Female District Leader in the 43rd Assembly District. While women’s rights are under assault in the United States, Kellan is energized to bring her passions and experience in local organizing to advocate on behalf of women throughout Brooklyn. In her free time, Kellan is also an avid knitter and crafter!
We can't wait to see you at an event soon!
