Friend,
Cruelty is the hallmark of Trump and Roger Williams’ GOP. Washington D.C. works great for the wealthy and well-connected -- as we saw in the Trump tax cuts bill, which provided massive tax cuts for billionaires and corporations.
But when it comes to services that are meant to help those who need it most, it always seems like they find ways to make cuts. Now they want to cut off and reduce SNAP, which helps working families keep food on the table.

Because of a new federal rule, nearly 700,000 Americans are going to be cut off from food stamps.
I don't believe in putting a price on the livelihoods of struggling Americans. I'm calling on Congress to immediately move to restore the benefits Trump is cutting and help Americans in need. Will you join me?
This isn’t just counterproductive. It’s needlessly cruel and un-American. As someone who grew up in a working-class family and relied on Medicaid and the Earned Income Tax credit at a young age, these are programs that help ensure that students aren’t going to school on an empty stomach.
Ultimately, I believe that nobody should have to work two or three jobs and still scrape by in this country. I believe that nobody working full-time should need to rely on government assistance -- as even some recent Amazon employees have had to most notably. Simply put, we need to pay people more in this country.
But in the meantime, we need to send as clear a message as we can that we aren’t going to stand for members of Congress who use the office to enrich themselves and cut programs that help those that need it most.
My story is a story that millions of Americans have experienced in some way.
I’m going to take that experience with me into every policy fight. And I need you with me in this fight today. Add your name to demand that Congress restore the SNAP benefits being cut by Trump.
Thank you for standing up,
Julie
