[ [link removed] ]Welch for Vermont
                 Hello,
It took me no time at all to realize I wanted to make Vermont my home.
After spending my early 20s as a community organizer fighting housing
discrimination in Chicago and going to law school, I felt a pull—away from
the corporate Wall Street jobs and the big D.C. jobs on K Street that many
of my classmates sought—toward a community I could call home. I found it
   in White River Junction.
Much like my organizing work, serving as a Vermont public defender gave me
an opportunity to fight for what is right every day and give voice to
those vulnerable to an unjust system. In the courtroom, on the sidewalk on
Bridge Street, and on my favorite hiking trails, I met my community and
was welcomed with the Vermont values I now hold most dear—like
self-reliance, mutual support, and cooperation built on trust.
Those are values I want to bring with me to the Senate. [ [link removed] ]With your
support today, you can continue to grow this grassroots campaign and help
me fight for Vermont as its Senator. If you’re able to, please chip in:

[ [link removed] ]Peter talking with Vermonters
Since 2007, I’ve had a dream job, representing Vermont in the U.S. House.
I’ve met incredible people across this great state, heard their concerns
and listened to their needs, and then I’ve worked hard to pass real
solutions in Congress. It seems clear to me that we need more of that
problem-solving in the Senate—and less of Mitch McConnell’s political
   division and stagnation.
Vermont isn’t your traditional swing state, but as an open seat this year,
it is a key Senate race. We know it and so do Senate Republicans. They’re
spending big money to regain their majority and if they succeed then the
progress we’ve made in recent years will be lost.
[ [link removed] ]We must keep the Senate blue. Can you pitch in now to power this
grassroots campaign so I can fight for you in the Senate next year?
I’m so proud to call Vermont my home, and to be in this fight alongside
   you.
   Thanks,
   Peter
