My parents immigrated to the United States legally from Brazil to flee socialism. They believed that the American Dream would change their lives forever–and it did.
They fought and sacrificed to come to this country–legally–with their few belongings and made a life for themselves right here in New York.
I am the product of the American Dream. That is what motivates me every day.
Growing up, I believed that with hard work and pure grit, I could do anything and preserve this same American Dream–that my parents fought so hard for–for future generations. I want everyone to have this same opportunity.
That is why I knew I needed to step up.
For far too long we’ve had representatives who simply make promises they don’t keep, and it’s drastically hurting Americans. We can’t afford another two years of empty promises.
