It’s been a while!

Dear Democrats,

BluePrint to ‘22 has served as our relational organizing program, allowing community members to meet or reconnect neighbors through acts of service. Many of you have attended park clean ups, food drives, and led education campaigns door to door. The promise of BluePrint is that service runs on organizing! By being present and active in our communities year-round, we can build our coalition and pivot toward campaigning when appropriate. That time is now.

Below I’d like to showcase four of our targeted races this cycle.

I’d also like to introduce our newest member of staff. Brie Bristol started last week as our new Digital Content Manager, and she’s also the one who assembled this newsletter! Brie comes to MassDems with a wealth of experience from working with several Massachusetts elected officials and headlining social media and communications work at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. In our next email, we will introduce our new BluePrint to ‘22 Coordinator, Aisling Keane!

Best,

Joe Sherlock

Acting Executive Director

BluePrint to ‘22: Our Candidates are Our Neighbors

As the countdown gets closer to November 8th (Election Day!), Massachusetts candidates are ramping up canvassing, phone banking, and meet & greets. Your future elected officials may pass you by on the street very soon! To keep it neighborly, this week we are highlighting four of our targeted races that are running some of the strongest field operations across the Commonwealth.

The word of the week is “canvassing”! We know how important campaigning is, but it is also important to remember that campaigns can’t grow without volunteers like you! Scroll down to find opportunities to get involved with Barry Finegold, Becca Rausch, Carol Doherty, and Stephan Fishman this month!

Barry Finegold ([link removed]) running for re-election to the State Senate for Second Essex and Middlesex. Barry has been fighting for Merrimack Valley families since 2010. In the past, Barry pioneered the 2021 VOTES Act which made vote-by-mail and early voting permanent in Massachusetts. With your support, Barry hopes to continue innovating our election system for the future. The Finegold campaign could use your help canvassing next Saturday, August 13, 2022 - use this link ([link removed]) to sign up today!

Becca Rausch ([link removed]) is running for re-election to the State Senate for Norfolk, Worcester, and Middlesex. Becca’s commitment to intersectional fairness and equality for all shines through her policy portfolio which includes reproductive justice and combating discrimination. The Rausch campaign is knocking on voters' doors in Needham and Franklin this Sunday, August 7, 2022 ([link removed]) , next Sunday afternoon ([link removed]) , and every Sunday until Election Day! If you’re unable to make it, sign up here to knock doors ([link removed]) and make calls ([link removed]) on your own time! A volunteer will drop off or email any materials you may need.

On the house side, Carol Doherty ([link removed]) is running for re-election for Third Bristol. A long-time Taunton resident, civic leader, and neighborhood volunteer, Carol has always been an advocate for teachers and public schools. Her sponsorship on bills such as H572, H2620, and H573 to influence positive change in our school systems are why we need to re-elect her in Taunton and Easton. The Doherty campaign is meeting bright and early Saturday morning on August 13, 2022 to canvas at their office at 12 Taunton Green, email eva (mailto:[email protected]) [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) for further details.

Stephen Fishman ([link removed]) running for election to the State Representatives for Worcester's 11th district. We need to elect him to represent the Worcester 11th because of his dedication to protecting the right to vote, ensuring women retain their own bodily autonomy, and expanding our investment in our public schools. The Fishman campaign could use your help canvassing this weekend in Shrewsbury ([link removed]) and/or Westborough. If this weekend doesn’t work, sign up for other opportunities to support Stephen's campaign through canvassing or by phone banking ([link removed]) .
