Senate Democrats have come to an agreement on the largest climate and environmental justice investment in the legislative history of this country.

Not a moment too soon, I say.

We are on the verge of investing hundreds of billions of dollars to transition off of fossil fuels to renewable energy, clean up communities that have suffered on the frontlines of unjust policies and pollution, and lower health care premiums for millions of Americans.

We’re capping out-of-pocket expenses on prescription drugs, giving Medicare the power to negotiate costs with Big Pharma, and instituting a corporate minimum tax to ensure that everyone pays their fair share.

Our legislation, the Inflation Reduction Act, is the culmination of so much of our work over the past few years. And I intend to do my part to ensure its passage this week.

I’m ready to take on big polluters and pass the largest investment into our climate and environmental justice ever.

I’m ready to take on Big Pharma so that you and your loved ones can afford the medicine you’re prescribed.

I’m ready to take on corporate greed and make our tax system more fair.

John, if you’re with me, add your name as a citizen cosponsor of the Inflation Reduction Act to urge the Senate to pass our legislation this week before the August recess.

Your time, talent, and treasure went into bringing us out of the darkest period in the modern history of our nation. You completely flipped control of Congress and the White House, and now we’ve arrived at this moment.
