Friend, if there was ever a doubt that national Republicans are going all-in to defeat me, this should settle it:

GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy just sent out a pretty desperate fundraising plea on behalf of our opponent Esther King. Here’s an excerpt: 

Can you help us counter McCarthy's fundraising push for my opponent by chipping in $5 right away?

I won’t give his attacks any oxygen here, but McCarthy’s email is chock-full of typical GOP slurs to really gin-up the fear factor with his base. Personally, I think the tropes are a little tired -- especially from someone as extreme as McCarthy.

Remember, this is the same guy who has all-but promised to push forward a nationwide abortion ban if he gets the gavel. There's no doubt that Esther King would be a loyal ally in that endeavor.

McCarthy's political career hinges on Republicans taking the House, and he’s literally admitting the only way he can stay in power is by beating me.
