Taneal, Shiromi, and Annette join the TakeCharge Community

At TakeCharge, we believe meaningful change comes from within our community and takes place on a very personal level. Trust, Community, and Investing in people is the only way to truly revive a culture. That's why TakeCharge has recently welcomed three new Ambassadors to our organization: Taneal Palmer, Shiromi Beach, and Annette Bittner.

Taneal Palmer

Taneal joined TakeCharge because it reflects the values that led her away from her negative circumstances to a fulfilling life where she can set up her children for an even brighter future. She believes the place you begin life is not the place you have to stay. Taneal wanted something better for her child, and through her hard work and ingenuity, she now runs a business and raises her two children on a farm with her husband.

Shiromi Beach

“What drew me to become an ambassador for TakeCharge is that I want to help more people lead resilient lives,” Shiromi said.

Shiromi likes the focus on faith, family and education that is emphasized at TakeCharge because it was the formula that led her to marriage, motherhood and fulfilling career.

“We are a product of our choices. We can choose to keep moving forward,” she said.

Annette Bittner

Bittner was attracted to TakeCharge because it was the first organization she saw promoting issues she thought were important for addressing the problems in the black community. Both she and her husband AJ are volunteers.They met when she was in college. She said they feel they are called to be models for others.

“I was attracted to TakeCharge because they’re not ashamed or fearful to tell the truth unapologetically. America works for everyone, “ she said.

We are looking forward to the value our new ambassadors will bring to TakeCharge. Their personal experiences will be a model for others to take charge of their lives.
