Tonight, thousands of Missourians lifted their voices to demand something, and somebody, new.

Tonight, voters sent a clear message: they are sick and tired of an officeholder who sidelines constituents who don’t share her extreme views; a career politician who ignores anyone who doesn’t drop six-figure contributions to her campaign; and an absent representative who refuses to work in the best interest of her community.

The people of Missouri’s Second Congressional District are fed up with the toxic politics of Ann Wagner and are ready for a public servant who will work for everyone who calls this wonderful place home.

And I am so proud, and honored, to be selected as their champion.

When I launched my campaign, on this exact date last year, my focus was on beating Ann and we’ve never strayed from that path. My team has knocked on tens of thousands of doors, dialed equally as many phones, and made deep connections with the communities she’s abandoned.

These voters have told us they’re fed up with Ann’s absenteeism and corruption, and are ready for a candidate who’s willing to fight for workers, our students, and the most vulnerable. Tonight, I am fired up to continue forging a new path, one paved with inclusion, hopefulness and stewardship at its core.

In short, I am so grateful for the opportunity to work for, not against, the people I’ve called neighbors for nearly 30 years. With a full heart, I want to say thank you to everyone who supported this campaign and voted for me. I know that we can win this race in November and finally restore representation to MO-02.
