Noem was elected Governor of South Dakota in 2018, having served previously in both the state legislature as well as the U.S. House of Representatives. As Governor, she has been a champion for individual liberty and personal responsibility, most notably in her response to the COVID-19 pandemic, during which she never ordered a single business or church to close and never issued a statewide shelter-in-place order.

She is also a rancher, farmer, small business owner, and author of the New York Times bestseller “Not My First Rodeo: Lessons Learned From the Heartland.”
