When I first decided to run for Congress, many, many people doubted me. They said I didn’t fit the mold of a traditional candidate and that I wouldn’t succeed.

But now, because of YOU, our campaign has completely overthrown those expectations. Now, we’re among the top front-runners in our primary election in one of the most competitive districts in the country.

And it’s not just about my race for Congress. I have been doubted and undermined my whole life. Whether it was being a child of an immigrant in a working family to coming out as gay – I have faced an immense array of obstacles. I even survived a mass shooting that nearly took Gabby Giffords’ life.

But I took those “obstacles” and I turned them into productive action. I ran for office in the state legislature and I fought. I fought for LGBTQ rights, I fought for abortion access, I fought for gun control, and I will always keep fighting for marginalized and working class Americans.

Now, friend, that’s exactly why I’m running for Congress!

The biggest obstacle of my life is our primary election this TUESDAY. But like all the ones before, I know together we can overcome this obstacle.
