Breaking news, John — the House just passed H.R. 1808, a bill that will ban assault weapons.

This is a BIG deal: it’s been almost a decade since we’ve had an assault weapons ban on the federal level, and during that time, mass shootings have tripled. Now that this bill has passed the House, it’s headed to the Senate floor.

The Senate is heading for recess, but when session resumes, passing H.R. 1808 needs to be their number one priority — especially as kids start heading back to school this August.

John, can you send a message to your senators right now and urge them to vote yes on an assault weapons ban ASAP?

SEND MY MESSAGE

This is the first time in almost a decade that an assault weapons ban has gained momentum. We need the Senate to vote on this bill once they return to session so that we can make sure our schools can reopen safely without the threat of another mass shooting.

We showed our House Representatives that we weren’t going to let up until they voted and passed H.R. 1808. Now it’s time for us to apply that same pressure to our senators.

Send a message to your senators and urge them to vote yes on an assault weapons ban so we can move one step closer to ending gun violence.
